INTERPURGE PIPEWELD PURGING SYSTEMS & ACCESSORIES
The
INTERPURGE Pipe Weld Purging Systems
are specifically
engineered to provide the fastest, most efficient means to purge
rest oxygen (atmosphere) from a pipe/tube joint to be welded, while
obtaining very low oxygen levels. For example, a
Maxi-Purge Unit
permits welders to achieve high quality welds typically required by
the semi-conductor and nuclear industries today, that was difficult to
obtain, in the past. The
Maxi-Purge System
covers from 1.5” to 16”
pipe, and purges with argon down to 50 ppm of oxygen (and lower) in
2 minutes, or less.
To order a Maxi-Purge Unit
, simply provide the pipe size & schedule,
or the I.D. of the pipe. You’ll get a single order number that gets you 2
baffles, a gas diffuser, all hardware, a 30’ stainless retrieval cable and a
hose pkg consisting of a 6” whip line, male/female quick disconnects,
30’ of low permeability hose and the hardware connection to join to
your flow meter or regulator – “ready-to-use”! Also available is a single
baffle & diffuser system (Mini-Purge) that covers 1/2”to 1.5”applications,
while a Jumbo-Purge System covers 15.94” I.D. to 30” I.D. and Larger.
Tomonitor your purging application, and ensure low levels
of oxygen have been reached before you commence with
your weld, you need an Oxygen Indicator. The
Model
772 Oxygen Indicator
was designed specifically for the
Welding Industry – it can accurately read down to 1 ppm
(part per million) of
rest oxygen within
your pipe. Contains
a built-in pump for
oxygen sensing.

The key components of the
INTERPURGE (Maxi-Purge) System
includes:
Baffles
- are halogen free (non-contaminating)
and heat resistant to a maximum temperature of 630°F (330°C). The double-lipped baffles conform to the I.D. of the pipe
while ensuring a fully sealed purging space.
Diffuser
- the unique sintered stainless and fine, multi-layered mesh diffusers
distribute argon evenly without creating turbulence internally. This helps a welder achieve excellent weld quality and a
uniform reduction of the discoloration of the pipe’s weld seam.
Hardware
- the same parts & components cover the baffles
within the Maxi-Purge 1 System (1.496” – 3.976”) I.D. range. The Maxi-Purge 2 System’s hardware covers it’s baffles (3.937” –
16.142”) I.D. range. Cables & Hose are universal.
